Come; let us rebuild the church at Umuohia – Elder Ajiere calls on community
“Come let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, so that we may no longer suffer disgrace… (Nehemiah 2:17)
Like the Nehemiah of his time, Elder Anthony Ajiere, a U.S.A based Nigerian, with an incredible desire to serve and better the lot of his people and community, has called on Abia state government, well-meaning individuals, Organizations and his fellow community members to join hands to rebuild the collapsed renowned St. Peter’s African Gospel Church Congregation in his local community Umuohia – Ndiolumbe.
Elder Ajiere who spoke to TheSay News correspondent in Chicago, said that he feel so concerned to rebuild the collapsed house of God because that was where he started his Christian journey as his parents and late father, Elder Peter Ajiere served as an Elder in the church for many years until his death.
“You will never build the walls of your life until you have first become greatly concerned about the ruins”…
He said the call has become necessary as church activities have been hindered by the incident. He presented an S.O.S message from the Bishop of the Aba diocese, Bishop Rt. Rev. L.E. Nwokoleme that reads:
Save Our Soul Message (S.O.S.)
On behalf of the parochial Committee, the mothers and the entire members of St. Peter’s African Gospel Congregation, Umuohia – Ndiolumbe Parish, wish to send an (S.O.S.) save our soul message to all Churches, Government, Organizations, Communities, well spirited individuals and other functionaries etc., to come to our aid on the recent incident that happened to the above Church, (St. Peter’s A.G.C. Umuohia – Ndiolumbe, Isiala Ngwa South L.G.A, Abia State).
It was on 29th March, 2016 by 1:00pm in the afternoon, that the Church Building collapsed and fell down without any notice, thereby rendering the entire members hopeless, and also we are worshipping under the sun and the rain.
We therefore prayed that the good God is looking forward to acknowledge your deed to us, financially.
