EVERYBODY IS AVOIDING DISPLEASING THE BRITISH – SAYS BIAFRAN VETERAN AT IPOB OTTAWA END OF YEAR PARTY
The IPOB Ottawa end of year party held on December 8, 2019, was a masterpiece. The event which was held at the cozy banquet auditorium of St Elias Anthiocian Orthodox Cathedral was attended by freedom lovers from different groups and countries. Some of the dignitaries at the occasion include, Charles Anyali, a paralegal practitioner, who was chairman of the event, Ndidi Amaka Onyeaju the Secretary of Igbo Women’s union Christina Akinola, Pastor Ugochukwu Nwanaka among others. The occasion was used to sign a condolence register for the death of Late Ugoeze Nneoma Sally Kanu, the mother of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
In his opening remarks, the Coordinator of IPOB Ottawa, Mazi Festus Ibeh reported that as MNK and the IPOB family were mourning the loss of the late mother, a few days ago, came the news of the death of his father, Eze, Israel Kanu. He called for a minute’s silence in their remembrance and for all IPOB members who have lost their lives. He reiterated that with these enormous sacrifices, there is no going back in the struggle as their sacrifices will not be in vain. Also, the end of year Committee Chairman, Sir, Obinna Chukwunyere presented a powerful speech highlighting the relevance of IPOB and the basis of their struggle. The event witnessed some beautiful renditions
and songs by Christian Chukwu and Moise St. Hilaire, a Primerica representative.
The performances by two Biafran Veterans, Emma Ukwu and Emeka Ndukwe whose presence were felt throughout the occasion was very inspirational. The highlight of the event was a keynote address delivered by Veteran Emeka Ndukwe. In his speech he recalled the history of colonization and amalgamation by the British in Nigeria. Below are excerpts from his speech.
”We did not invite anybody to colonize us”
When the British came to Nigeria, they met a ready-made pawn in the Hausa Fulani and Yoruba. The Igbo were more brilliant and was not easy for them to overcome. The Yoruba you cannot trust and not reliable. Because the British wanted the Fulani to control power, they rigged the census done during the colonial era. Nigeria is a federation where one component will have more components in the federation. Canada and the Western world don’t talk about the Biafran cause because;
”Everybody is avoiding displeasing the British”
The agenda Buhari is carrying out now, is the agenda Ahmadu Bello set in 1957 where he stated.
”We the people of the North will continue our stated intention to conquer the South and to dip the Koran in the Atlantic ocean after the British leave”
We are here today because we have said that we could not allow that to happen in our lifetime. The Veteran said that in their bid to crush and suppress Biafra, they have carried out different military operations in Biafra land, including ”Operation Python Dance”. Hardly do they know that,
”The Python cannot dance. It’s the Cobra that dances”
Nobody wants to talk about the Biafran genocide because of Britain. What they are interested in is restructuring. Restructuring ended yesterday. We shall be Masters of our own destiny.
