The Constitutional Reform Committee has signed-off on the list of recommendations it will make as the country takes steps to move away from the British Monarchy.
Minister of Legal & Constitutional Affairs, Marlene Malahoo Forte announced on Monday that the document is being prepared for the signature of Committee members.
She said the recommendations seek to address matters in Phase 1 of the Constitutional Reform Work Programme, which includes severing ties with the Monarchy, establish the Republic of Jamaica, and amend deeply entrenched provisions, for which a referendum is required.
Mrs Malahoo Forte said the report will be presented to the Cabinet, tabled in Parliament, and be made available for public to debate it in its entirety.
